Every year, HPHS Student Council comes up with a new slogan that will guide their projects throughout the year. As you may know after seeing the signs around the school, this year’s slogan is “A Voice For Everyone.” According to StuCo, it reflects their philosophy going forward and is a good representation of the projects that they are promoting.

A project that the group has expressed a lot of passion about is their new Mental Health initiative. They kicked it off last year with the $10,000 fundraiser for The Grace Loncar Foundation. By promoting open conversation about mental health issues, they are living up to their new slogan. Another project includes the all-new initiative, #ProjectRespect, which promotes inclusiveness and kindness. That project will be rolled out district-wide. Along with these two new initiatives, StuCo is dedicated to continuing their Race To End Racism Forum and Project Purple.

This year, to increase student voice and participation, they are increasing their social media extensively and are in the process of starting a new monthly-forum called “The Breakfast Club” where students can come and share their voice over breakfast.
