The Architecture Design Class is a new course which according to Mr. Thomas, the course’s teacher, “will help students gain the knowledge and skills needed to enter a career in architecture or construction or prepare a foundation toward a postsecondary degree in architecture, construction science, drafting, and interior design.” This will be accomplished through a curriculum featuring design history, sketching techniques, and the digital tools used to produce renderings. The criteria of the class is focused around projects with some examples being 3D printing a scale model for energy efficient building, and developing a plan for a sustainable structure. Mr. Thomas states, “Student interested in art, 3D Design, CAD, design thinking, or interior design would be interested in this class.” In Conclusion the Architecture Class is an interesting course which will aid students on this specialized career path.
